Dear goodness, what a fantastic day for sailing. We headed out around 1PM. We spent most of the day to windward, heeled over, doing 6 knots. Around 5PM the wind died off and we ran downwind back to the marina. When I fired up the iron genny, it wasn’t making any water, so we shut it tight down, and actually sailed up the river wing on wing with a poled out genoa, up passed the marina and then fired it up just for the last little bit to the dock. When we fired it up that time, water was moving just fine, so perhaps I had sucked some air in when we started out sailing. Sailing up river is good fun, and I can’t want to use that pole some more. I need to remember to hook up some guy lines though.
